Monmouth County Events in August

There’s something for everything in Monmouth County this month — festivals, concerts, farmers markets and movie series to name a few.

Below is a list of some of the events coming up. 

• Aug. 7-11, 5 p.m., the 37th Annual Ocean Township Italian Festival at Joe Palaia Park in Ocean Township.
• Aug. 8, 7 p.m., 90.5 The Night’s Songwriters on the Pier at l Street Pier, Belmar Marina
• Aug. 8, 7 p.m., Thursdays by the Sea in Long Branch at Pier Village in Long Branch
• Aug. 10, 8 a.m., Belmar Ocean Mile Lifeguard Competition at 10th Avenue
• Aug. 10, 8:30 a.m., Asbury Park 5K, benefits the Boys and Girls Club of Monmouth County, finishes at Boardwalk south of Convention Hall
• Aug. 10, 8:30 a.m., Belmar Chase 5K, 6th and Ocean Ave., adjacent to Taylor Pavilion
• Aug. 10, 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., Mid-Summer Flea Market at Historic Allaire Village
• Aug. 10, noon to 8 p.m., Keyport Spanish/American Festival at Beach Park
• Aug. 14 and 21, 7:30 p.m., Freehold Idol Finale at 1 E. Main St., Freehold
• Aug. 31, noon to 5 p.m., Garden State Wine Festival at Historic Allaire State Park in Wall
