Become a Volunteer Docent with the Monmouth County Park System

The Monmouth County Park System is looking for volunteers to become Docents/Receptionists in our two Environmental Centers. Are you 21 years of age or older and enjoy interacting with people? You may have what it takes to step into this exciting volunteer position. Volunteer docents welcome visitors and answer questions about on-site ecology, exhibits, facilities, and upcoming park programs.  Other responsibilities may include light upkeep of facilities and exhibits.

Once trained, docents may volunteer on weekends in half-day shifts at Huber Woods Environmental Center in Middletown or the Manasquan Reservoir Environmental Center in Howell. Volunteers are asked to provide a minimum two shift commitment per month.

Interested? Sign up for our orientation session on Saturday, September 21 from 1:30-3pm at the Thompson Park Longbridge Annex, 53 Longbridge Road, Holmdel. After the initial orientation, volunteers will then attend the training session offered on-site to learn more about the facility.
