A short break from winter on the way

A break from the harsh winter weather is on the way, but one more cold day can be expected before a steady warm up expected.  Fog will be a threat each morning as warm air invades from the Tennessee River Valley.  Temperatures will finally rise above normal for the first time since October.

Today through tomorrow, high pressure will take hold with scattered cloud cover expected.  Winds will back from the northwest to southwest at 10 to 20 mph.  Temperatures this afternoon will rise into the mid 30's for highs.  Tomorrow, temperatures will range from the lower to mid 20's for lows and upper 30's to mid 40's for highs.

A series of disturbances will move from the southwest to northeast Friday through Sunday producing the threat for widely scattered to isolated showers each day.  Fog will be a threat each morning and may become locally dense at times.  Visibility in the morning hours will be below 2 miles at times.  Temperatures will rebound to well above normal levels.  Temperatures on Friday will range from the lower to mid 30's for lows and upper 40's to lower 50's for highs.  Temperatures on Saturday will range from the upper 30's to lower 40's for lows and mid to upper 50's for highs.  Temperatures on Sunday will range from the upper 40's to lower 50's for lows and upper 50's to mid 60's for highs.

An Arctic cold front will move through the region on late Sunday night into Monday with periods of rain ending as snow on Monday morning.  Temperatures will fall through the 50's, 40's, and 30's through the day.

High pressure will be in control on Tuesday with scattered cloud cover expected.  Temperatures will return to below normal levels.  Low temperatures will fall into the lower to mid 20's for lows and lower to mid 30's for highs.
