A tranquil start to the week

Tranquil weather conditions start the new week as high pressure will be in complete control.  Scattered clouds can be expected through Wednesday morning.  However, a storm will be brewing for Wednesday night into Thursday morning that will bring rain to much of the region, ending as snow even along the coast on Thursday morning.

Today through tomorrow, high pressure will produce scattered clouds through the period.  Winds will be from the southwest at 5 to 15 mph.  Temperatures will be near to above normal to start the week.  Temperatures this afternoon will rise into the upper 40's to lower 50's.  Temperatures tomorrow will range from the mid to upper 30's for lows and mid to upper 50's for highs.

On Wednesday, clouds will increase through the day.  Rain will develop for the entire region by the evening.  Over the northern interior from northeastern Pennsylvania to northwestern Connecticut, the rain will change over to snow on Wednesday evening with some accumulation expected.  The low pressure system will lift northeast from the Tennessee River Valley through central New Jersey and then towards southern New England by Thursday morning.  The rain will finally change over to some light snow on Thursday morning with little if any accumulation along the coast.  Winds will back from the southwest to northwest through the forecast period at 10 to 20 mph.  Temperatures will rise into the mid to upper 50's for highs on Wednesday.  On Thursday morning, temperatures will crash into the lower to mid 20's for lows.
