A very wet weekend on the way

After a very rough winter for the Philadelphia and New York City metropolitan areas, the pattern appears to be shifting to a more Spring-like pattern with warmer temperatures.  Unfortunately, with the warmer temperatures will be the threat for rain.

Clouds will increase through this afternoon with showers developing by evening as a cold front approaches the region.  Winds will back from the west to the south at 5 to 15 mph.  Temperatures will rise into the upper 40's to lower 50's over the interior and mid 50's along the coast and in urban areas.

Tonight on through tomorrow morning, showers will rotate through the region and will be heavy at times.  Another area of low pressure will approach from the Tennessee River Valley and move to the New Jersey coastal waters by Sunday morning with periods of rain.  Rainfall amounts over an inch of rain can be expected.  Localized flash flooding will be a threat along with poor visibility.  Winds will veer from the south to the northeast at 5 to 15 mph.  Temperatures on Saturday will range from the lower to mid 40's for lows and lower to mid 50's for highs.  On Sunday, temperatures will range from the upper 30's to lower 40's for lows and mid to upper 40's for highs.

High pressure will be in place on Monday with scattered clouds and tranquil weather conditions.  A series of disturbances will move through the region Tuesday through Thursday with a risk of isolated to widely scattered showers.  Temperatures on Monday will range from the lower to mid 30's for lows and upper 50's to lower 60's for highs.  Temperatures on Tuesday through Thursday will range from the lower to mid 40's for lows and lower to mid 60's for highs.
