Canadian High Pressure Takes Control

Canadian high pressure will be in control through Sunday with clear skies to scattered cloud cover.

As a cold front slowly sinks south through the Philadelphia and New York City metropolitan areas this morning, a fresh Canadian air mass will invade from the north and northwest, which will lead to pleasant conditions to end the week.

Showers will linger this morning as the cold front exits into the Atlantic Ocean.  The showers will be capable of producing brief heavy downpours.  Skies will clear from northwest to southeast in the afternoon with far more tranquil weather conditions expected.  Winds will veer to the northwest at 5 to 15 mph.  Temperatures will rise into the lower to mid 80's for highs.

Canadian high pressure will be in control tonight on through Sunday with clear skies to scattered cloud cover.  Winds through Saturday morning will be from the northwest at 5 to 15 mph.  Winds from Saturday afternoon through Sunday will back to the south at 5 to 15 mph.  Temperatures tomorrow will range from the upper 50's to lower 60s for lows and lower to mid 80s for highs.  Temperatures on Saturday will range from the lower to mid 60's for lows and mid 80s for highs.  Temperatures on Sunday will range from the mid to upper 60s for lows and mid to upper 80s for highs.

A series of low pressure systems will move through the Philadelphia and New York City metropolitan areas Monday on through Wednesday with scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms.  Low temperatures will range from the lower to mid 60s.  High temperatures will range from the lower to mid 80s.
