Cold and tranquil conditions rest of the week
The Philadelphia and New York City metropolitan areas will have a short break from the winter weather for the next few days, however cold conditions will continue through the period. Periods of light snow will return for Sunday morning as an area of low pressure exits well to the southeast of New Jersey.
Today through Saturday afternoon, high pressure will be in control with scattered cloud cover expected. Winds will be from the northwest at 5 to 15 mph. Temperatures will remain below normal for this time of year. High temperatures will range from the upper 20's to lower 30's over the interior and lower to mid 30's along the coast. Low temperatures will range from the upper 10's to lower 20's.
A weak area of low pressure will produce periods of light snow late Saturday night into Sunday morning. Snowfall accumulations are expected to range from 1 to 4 inches, especially over southern and central New Jersey. Temperatures will range from the mid to upper 20's for lows and lower to mid 30's for highs.
