A Pacific cold front over the Mississippi River Valley will usher in a return to more seasonable Spring weather into the Philadelphia and New York City metropolitan areas for the rest of the week. However a few showers this evening will be the price for the return of warmer weather.
Clouds will increase slowly through this afternoon as the cold front approaches from the Ohio River Valley. Showers will develop this evening but will be widely scattered. A few heavy downpours are possible but are unlikely. Winds will be from the southwest at 5 to 15 mph, veering to the northwest tonight. Temperatures will rise into the lower to mid 40's for highs this afternoon.
High pressure will be in control by tomorrow morning and remain in control through Saturday afternoon. Scattered cloud cover can be expected with winds backing from the northwest to southwest at 5 to 15 mph. Temperatures on Thursday will range from the mid to upper 30's for lows and mid to upper 50's for highs. On Friday, temperatures will range from the lower to mid 30's for lows and lower to mid 50's for highs. On Saturday, temperatures will range from the mid to upper 30's for lows and upper 50's to lower 60's for highs.
