Exiting storm provides windy conditions today

A powerful storm over the western Atlantic that produce moderate to heavy snow over southern New Jersey will produce windy conditions throughout the Philadelphia and New York City metropolitan areas through this evening.  A more Spring like weather pattern is on the way for the rest of the week and into next week though, leading to moderating temperatures back to normal levels.

A few lingering snow showers this morning will give way to clearing skies by the afternoon.  Winds will be from the northwest at 15 to 30 mph with gusts over 40 mph through the afternoon hours before subsiding to 10 to 15 mph in the evening hours.  Temperatures will rise into the upper 30's to lower 40's for highs.

High pressure will take hold by tonight and remain in control through Friday morning with scattered cloud cover.  Winds will back to the southwest at 5 to 15 mph through the period.  Temperatures tomorrow will range from the lower 20's for lows and mid 40's for highs.  By Friday, temperatures will moderate to the mid 30's for lows and upper 50's to lower 60's for highs.

A series of cold fronts and waves of low pressure will follow for Friday evening on through Sunday morning with a constant threat for showers.  These showers will be capable of heavy downpours at times.  Temperatures will remain mild through the period and near normal.  Low temperatures will range from the lower to mid 40's.  High temperatures in the mid 50's to lower 60's.

High pressure will be in control Sunday evening through Tuesday with scattered clouds.  Temperatures will range from the mid to upper 30's for lows and mid to upper 50's for highs.
