Heavy Rain Gives Way to Perfect Weekend Weather

An area of low pressure passing over southern New Jersey has produced heavy rain over the region and will continue to do so through the early afternoon hours.  However, after the rainfall this morning, high pressure will take hold just in time for the weekend!

Through the early afternoon, periods of rain will exit west to east with the entire northern Mid Atlantic out of the steady, heavy rainfall by 2 PM this afternoon.  Winds will back from the northeast to northwest at 5 to 15 mph, increasing to 10 to 20 mph this evening.  Temperatures will risen into the mid to upper 70's over the Philadelphia metropolitan area, lower to mid 70's over the New York City metropolitan area, and mid to upper 60's along the immediate coast.

Tonight through tomorrow, high pressure will gradually build into the Philadelphia and New York City metropolitan areas.  However, a few weak disturbances will keep the threat for widely scattered to isolated showers in the forecast until tomorrow morning followed by clearing skies.  Winds will be from the northwest at 5 to 15 mph.  Temperatures will fall into the mid to upper 50's for lows by tomorrow morning.  High temperatures tomorrow afternoon will rise into the mid 70's in the New York City metropolitan area and upper 70's to lower 80's in the Philadelphia metropolitan area.
