Morning showers give way to clearing skies

As an area of low pressure slowly departs into the Atlantic Ocean this morning, rain, sleet, and snow showers will linger through the morning hours.  These showers will be capable of producing short burst of heavy precipitation from time to time as they exit from northwest to southeast.

For today, rain, sleet, and snow showers will linger until noon before clearing from northwest to southeast.  No snow or sleet accumulations are expected but roadways will be slick.  Scattered cloud to clear skies can be expected by this afternoon with a northwesterly wind at 10 to 20 mph.  Temperatures will rise into the upper 40's to lower 50's over the interior and lower to mid 50's along the coast.

High pressure will be in control tonight on through Wednesday morning with scattered cloud cover.  Winds will veer from the north to the south at 5 to 15 mph, decreasing to around 5 mph by tomorrow afternoon.  Temperatures will be near normal through the period.  Temperatures will range from the lower to mid 30's for lows and mid to upper 50's for highs.
