Showers kick off the weekend

An area of low pressure over the Mississippi River Valley this morning will bring scattered showers to the Philadelphia and New York City metropolitan areas late tonight into tomorrow morning to kick start the weekend.  The good news is that by mid morning tomorrow, the showers will be gone and skies will be clearing!

Clouds will increase through this afternoon with an isolated shower possible by the late afternoon hours.  Winds will be from the south at 5 to 15 mph.  Temperatures will rise into the upper 50's to lower 60's over much of the region, mid 60's in urban areas.

Tonight, the area of low pressure will move through the region with areas of scattered showers expected.  The showers will be heavy at times and capable of localized urban flooding.  The showers will develop after 9 PM tonight and continue through 9 AM tomorrow.  Winds will veer to the northwest at 5 to 15 mph.  Temperatures will fall into the mid to upper 40's.
