Showers remain an isolated threat

A cool and unsettled pattern will remain over the Philadelphia and New York City metropolitan areas through this weekend and into next week as a series of disturbances move through the region.

Today through tomorrow, scattered cloud cover can be expected with an isolated showers possible in the afternoon hours.  The showers will be capable of a brief heavy downpour.  Otherwise, tranquil weather conditions are expected with winds from the northwest at 10 to 20 mph this afternoon back to the south at 5 to 10 mph by tomorrow morning.  Temperatures this afternoon will rise into the upper 50's to lower 60's along the coast and lower to mid 60's throughout the rest of the region.  Temperatures tomorrow will range from the upper 30's to lower 40's for lows and lower to mid 60's for highs.

On Saturday , a more organized area of low pressure will produce scattered showers in the morning followed by scattered cloud cover.  Scattered cloud cover is expected on Sunday and Monday with an isolated shower possible in the afternoon.  Temperatures on Saturday will range from the upper 40's to lower 50's for lows and mid to upper 60's for highs.  Temperatures on Sunday and Monday will range from the mid 40's for lows and lower to mid 60's for highs.

An area of low pressure will slowly move over the region Tuesday and Wednesday with periods of rain expected.  The rain will be heavy at times.  Temperatures will range from the mid to upper 40's for lows and upper 50's to lower 60's for highs.
