Snow gives way to warm up

 -- An area of low pressure with an associated warm front will drive through the Philadelphia and New York City metropolitan areas this morning with periods of snow slowly changing over to rain.  Snowfall accumulations will be light at around 1 to 3 inches along the coast and 3 to 7 inches over the interior.  A steady warm up will follow there after with a threat for rain showers tomorrow and a strong cold front by Friday.

An area of low pressure will move through the region today with periods of snow slowly changing over to rain by this afternoon.  The bulk of the precipitation will fall this morning.  Winds will veer from the northeast to the west at 5 to 15 mph.  Temperatures will rise into the mid 30's over the interior and upper 30's to lower 40's along the coast.

Tonight through tomorrow morning, scattered cloud cover can be expected.  A disturbance will move through the region tomorrow afternoon with scattered showers.  Winds will be from the southwest at 5 to 15 mph.  Temperatures will range from the upper 20's to lower 30's for lows and lower to mid 40's for highs.

High pressure will be in control for Thursday with clear skies to scattered cloud cover.  Winds will be from the west at 5 to 15 mph.  Temperatures will warm to slightly above normal levels with lows in the upper 20's to lower 30's and highs in the lower to mid 40's.

A strong cold front will move through the region on Friday with periods of rain in the afternoon and evening.  The combination of steady snow melt and the heavy rain may lead to localized urban flooding.  Temperatures will range from the mid to upper 30's for lows and mid to upper 50's for highs.

High pressure will be in control Saturday through Monday with scattered cloud cover.  Temperatures will be near normal through the period.  Temperatures on Saturday will range from the lower to mid 30's for lows and lower to mid 50's for highs.  On Sunday and Monday, temperatures will range from the mid to upper 20's for lows and upper 30's to lower 40's for highs.
