Tranquil conditions take hold

High pressure will be the dominant feature over the Eastern United States through tomorrow leading to tranquil weather conditions throughout the Philadelphia and New York City metropolitan areas.  While a series of disturbances will pass through the northern Mid Atlantic this weekend, most locations will remain dry with only an isolated shower threat expected.

Today through tomorrow, scattered clouds to clear skies can be expected.  Winds will be light and variable at around 5 to 10 mph.  Temperatures this afternoon will rise into the mid 50's over much of the region, upper 40's to lower 50's over Long Island.  Low temperatures tomorrow will range from the lower to mid 30's over the interior and mid to upper 30's along the coast and in urban locations.  High temperatures tomorrow will range from the lower to mid 50's over much of the region, upper 40's to lower 50's over Long Island.

A series of weak disturbances will produce scattered to overcast cloud cover along with widely scattered to isolated showers Saturday on through Wednesday.  Although the showers will be isolated, a few of the showers will be capable of a brief heavy downpour.  No severe thunderstorms are expected through the forecast period though.  Temperatures on Saturday will range from the upper 30's to lower 40's for lows and upper 50's to lower 60's for highs.  Temperatures on Sunday and Monday will range from the lower to mid 40's for lows and mid to upper 60's for highs.  Temperatures on Tuesday and Wednesday will range from the upper 40's to lower 50's for lows and mid to upper 60's for highs.
