Tranquil Conditions Take Hold

After a rough, hot, humid, and rather stormy start to the week, a far more tranquil weather pattern will take hold for the end of this week and into the weekend.

After a rough, hot, humid, and rather stormy start to the week, a far more tranquil weather pattern will take hold for the end of this week and into the weekend.

High pressure will gradually take hold today through tomorrow with scattered cloud cover expected.  An isolated shower will be possible in the afternoon with a brief heavy downpour, otherwise dry conditions will be in place.  Winds will be from the northwest at 5 to 15 mph. Temperatures this afternoon will rise into the mid to upper 80s. Temperatures tomorrow will range from the mid to upper 60s for lows and lower to mid 80's for highs.

High pressure will be in complete control on Saturday and Sunday with scattered clouds expected along with a northwesterly wind at 5 to 15  mph.  Low temperatures will range from the mid to upper 60s.  High temperatures will range from the lower to mid 80s.

A cold front will approach on Monday with scattered showers and strong to severe thunderstorms expected.  Ahead of the cold front temperatures will range from the upper 60s to lower 70s for lows and mid to upper 80's for highs.

A much cooler and dry air mass will build into the Philadelphia and New York City metropolitan areas on Tuesday and Wednesday.  Low temperatures will range from the mid to upper 60s.  High temperatures will range from the upper 70s to lower 80s.
