Tranquil start to the week

A tranquil start to the week can be expected throughout the Philadelphia and New York City metropolitan areas with high pressure in control.  However, a series of disturbances lining up to the west will keep the threat for an isolated shower in the forecast into next weekend  Temperatures though will fluctuate to near normal to above normal through the forecast period with each passing disturbance.

High pressure will produce clear skies to scattered clouds through this evening.  Winds will be from the south at 5 to 10 mph.  Temperatures will rise into the upper 60's to lower 70's over the interior and in urban locations, lower to mid 60's along the coast with the coolest locations over Long Island.

Scattered cloud cover with a threat for an isolated shower can be expected tonight on through tomorrow.  Most locations will remain dry though.  The showers will be capable of a very brief heavy downpour from time to time.  Winds will back from the southeast to the northwest at 5 to 15 mph.  Low temperatures will range from the mid to upper 40's.  High temperatures will range from the lower to mid 70's over the interior and in urban locations, mid to upper 60's over southern Connecticut and the New Jersey coast, and the lower to mid 60's over Long Island.
