Unsettled Conditions for the Weekend

Scattered to overcast cloud cover can be expected with widely scattered showers a threat through the weekend.

Polar high pressure will shift over the Philadelphia and New York City  metropolitan areas today before settling over the western Atlantic for the next several days.  While tranquil conditions will be in place through this afternoon, the threat for showers will make a return just in time for the weekend.

As high pressure moves over the Philadelphia and New York City metropolitan areas today, scattered cloud cover can be expected.  Winds will back to the southwest at 5 to 15 mph.  Humidity will remain low with high temperatures in the afternoon in the lower to mid 80s throughout the region.

Tonight, clouds will increase as an area of low pressure approaches from the Tennessee River Valley.  Scattered to broken cloud cover can be expected with winds veering to the north at 5 to 15 mph.  Temperatures will fall into the upper 50s to lower 60s over the interior and lower to mid 60s along the coast.

Tomorrow on through Sunday, an area of low pressure will pass to the south of New Jersey into the coastal waters.  Scattered to overcast cloud cover can be expected with widely scattered showers a threat through the weekend.  Winds will veer to the east at 10 to 20 mph.  Temperatures will remain below normal and feel a bit raw.  Low temperatures will range from the upper 50s to lower 60s.  High temperatures will range from the upper 70s to lower 80s.

A series of disturbances will pass through the northern Mid Atlantic Monday on through Thursday with scattered to overcast cloud cover and isolated to widely scattered showers each day.  Temperatures will range from the mid to upper 60s for lows and lower to mid 80s for highs.
