Warm and wet weather on the way

A more seasonable pattern is about to become established throughout the Philadelphia and New York City metropolitan areas with the words snow, ice, and cold replaced by rain, raw, and flooding.  Spring is on the way, but conditions are not exactly going to be pleasant.

High pressure will produce tranquil weather conditions through tomorrow afternoon with scattered cloud cover.  Winds will back from the northwest to southwest at 5 to 15 mph.  Temperatures this afternoon will rise into the lower to mid 40's for highs.  Temperatures tomorrow will range from the mid 30's for lows and mid to upper 50's for highs.

The first of a series of cold fronts will move through the region tomorrow night into Saturday with scattered showers.  Variable cloud cover and isolated showers will linger on Saturday afternoon before the next round of rainfall comes in on Saturday night into Sunday.  The second area of low pressure will feature heavy rainfall with rainfall amounts over an inch possible.  Localized flash flooding will be a threat.  Temperatures will remain slightly below normal but still warmer than what has been observed of late.  Temperatures on Saturday will range from the upper 30's to lower 40's for lows and upper 40's to lower 50's for highs.  On Sunday, temperatures will range from the mid 30's for lows and mid to upper 40's for highs.  Of the two days, Sunday will feel the most raw out.

On Tuesday and Wednesday, another round of disturbances will move through the region with isolated to widely scattered showers.  Otherwise, scattered clouds are expected.  Temperatures will be near normal with lows in the upper 30's and highs in the upper 50's to lower 60's.
