Warm conditions take hold through the weekend

A much needed break in the winter weather pattern starts today with temperatures rebounding to above normal levels and even a few days where some locations stay above freezing from morning to night!  However, the warm up won't last long with more cold conditions and the potential for more winter storms on the way for next week.

High pressure will be in control through this afternoon with scattered cloud cover expected.  Winds will be from the southwest at 5 mph.  Temperatures will rise into the upper 40's to lower 50's for highs by this afternoon.

A warm front will lift through the Philadelphia and New York City metropolitan areas this evening into the overnight with a few scattered showers and the threat for fog developing towards morning.  Winds will be from the southwest at 5 to 10 mph.  Temperatures will fall into the upper 30's to lower 40's for morning lows.

Scattered cloud cover can be expected through tomorrow afternoon, however periods of heavy rain will develop by the evening as a weakening cold front moves through the region.  Winds will be from the southwest at 5 to 15 mph.  Temperatures will rise into the lower to mid 50's for highs.

High pressure will be in control for Saturday and Sunday with scattered cloud cover and well above normal temperatures.  Fog will remain a threat in the evening and morning hours and may be locally dense as the warm air continues to move over and melt the significant snow pack over the region.  Temperatures will range from the lower to mid 30's for lows and mid to upper 50's for highs.
