Winter blast to start the week

Another blast of winter like conditions are in place to start the week with a glancing blow from a powerful ocean storm tomorrow into Wednesday.  However, the good news is that warm conditions will return by the end of the week with seasonable temperatures and a few rain showers.

Today through tomorrow morning, high pressure will be in control with clear skies to scattered cloud cover.  Winds will veer from the north to northeast at 5 to 15 mph.  Temperatures will rise into the lower to mid 30's for highs this afternoon.  Temperatures tomorrow morning will fall into the upper 10's to lower 20's over the interior and mid to upper 20's along the coast for lows.

An area of low pressure will rapidly intensify over the western Atlantic tomorrow afternoon through Wednesday morning.  The majority of the snowfall will remain off the coast however, snow showers and a period of light snow can be expected tomorrow afternoon through Wednesday morning.  Winds will back from the east to the northwest at 15 to 30 mph with gusts over 40 mph at times.  Temperatures will range from the upper 30's to lower 40's for highs and mid to upper 20's for lows through the forecast period.  Details on the storm impacts below.

High pressure will take hold Wednesday evening through Friday afternoon with scattered cloud cover.  Temperatures on Thursday will range from the lower to mid 20's for lows and mid to upper 40's for highs.  Temperatures on Friday will range from the mid to upper 30's for lows and upper 50's to lower 60's for highs.

A cold front will move through the region Friday night into Saturday morning with scattered showers.  High pressure will be in control Saturday afternoon through Sunday with scattered clouds.  Temperatures will range from the upper 30's to lower 40's for lows and mid to upper 50's for highs.
