Winter takes another shot today

Winter will not quit this year and is going strong well into mid March this year as moderate to heavy snow moves through southeastern Pennsylvania and southern New Jersey this morning. The snow will leave by noon but the cold temperatures will remain throughout the Philadelphia and New York City metropolitan area with temperatures in the 30's this afternoon.

Snow will linger on through the morning hours over the Philadelphia metropolitan area and the New Jersey coast with a few flurries for the New York City metropolitan area.  The snow will end from west to east with the heaviest snowfall accumulations, over 6 inches, from Atlantic City, New Jersey on south.  Winds will be from the northeast at 10 to 20 mph.  Temperatures will rise into the lower to mid 30's for highs this afternoon.

Tonight on through tomorrow, scattered clouds can be expected with high pressure in control.  Winds will be from the east at 5 to 15 mph.  Temperatures will remain below normal with lows in the lower to mid 20's and highs in the lower to mid 40's.

A cold front will approach on Wednesday with scattered showers expected in the afternoon.  Winds will veer to the south at 5 to 15 mph.  Temperatures will range from the upper 20's to lower 30's for lows and upper 40's to lower 50's for highs.

High pressure will be in control Thursday and Friday with scattered clouds.  A cold front will approach on Saturday afternoon into Sunday morning with scattered showers.  Clearing skies can be expected by Sunday afternoon.  Temperatures on Thursday and Friday will range from the mid to upper 30's for lows and lower to mid 50's for highs.  Temperatures on Saturday will range from the upper 30's to lower 40's for lows and upper 50's to lower 60's for highs.  On Sunday, temperatures will fall back to the mid 30's for lows and mid to upper 40's for highs.
