Charles 'Chub' Archer, Freehold Township Resident, Dies at 77

Archer was a member of the Colts Neck Reformed Church; and a former member of the Colts Neck Fire Department No. 1

Charles A. "Chub" Archer, 77, of Freehold Township passed away on Sunday, May 26, 2013 at home. Born in Long Branch, he lived in Freehold, Colts Neck, and Shrewsbury prior to moving to Freehold Township eight years ago.

Mr. Archer was a caretaker for the Alfred Ferguson Estate, Navesink, for 20 years, retiring ten years ago. He was also a handyman who did various jobs in the Monmouth County area. He was a member of the Colts Neck Reformed Church; and a former member of the Colts Neck Fire Department No. 1. He was a dedicated husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather.

Surviving are his wife of 58 years, Patricia A. Baylor Archer; two sons and daughters-in-law, Alan and Melinda Archer, Middletown, and Ronald and Karen Archer, Freehold Township; three daughters and sons-in-law, Donna and Larry Otten, Colts Neck, Kim and Chris Olsen, Houston, Texas, and Jen and Jason Appio, Ocean Township; two brothers, Bill Archer and his wife, Florence, White House, Tennessee, and Dave Archer and his wife, Kay, Morganville; two sisters, Grace Solinski, Englishtown, and Alice Kramer, Windsor Township; ten grandchildren; and one great granddaughter.

Relatives and friends were invited to the Higgins Memorial Home, 20 Center Street, Freehold, on Wednesday, May 29, 2013.

Funeral Services will be held on Thursday at 11 a.m. at the Colts Neck Reformed Church. Interment will follow at Atlantic Cemetery, Colts Neck. Donations in his memory to www.CurePSP.org would be appreciated.
