Barbara L. Nelson, 86, formally of Freehold, died Sunday, March 17 at her home.
Nelson was born in Elmira, N.Y. and had lived in Freehold before moving to Brick seven years ago. She was a Certified Nurses' Aide for The Manor before her retirement in 1992.
Nelson was predeceased by her husband, John in 2003. She is survived by three sons and two daughters-in-laws, John, Freehold, Ralph and Bonnie, Brick, and Martin and Nina, Freehold; one sister, Gloria Yarger, Port St. Lucie, Fla.; seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Services will be held privately. The Higgins Memorial Home is in charge of arrangements.
