Former Freehold Resident Frances Louro Dies at 76

Won Monmouth County Women's Bowling Championship in 1984.

Frances M. Louro, age 76, of Wall Township passed away Friday, December 6, 2013 at home surrounded by her loving family after a courageous nine month battle with pancreatic cancer.  Fran was born in Jersey City, and had lived in Freehold Township for over 44 years before moving to Wall in 2008.  

Always the athlete, Fran was voted most athletic in her class at Lincoln High School Class of 1954.  She participated in the Freehold Township Recreation Softball Leagues and was Monmouth County Women’s Bowling Champion in 1984.  

She was also a member of the Freehold Township Youth Advisory Committee. Fran, an active communicant of St. Robert Bellarmine Catholic Church, was the consummate wife, mother and grandmother loved by all.  She was a world-class cook, especially known for her Italian specialties.

Fran goes to join in heaven her son, Dr. John Louro who passed away in 1994; her daughter, Jean Marie Louro who passed away in 2010 and her daughter-in-law, Vicki Louro who passed away in 2013.  She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Joseph A. Louro; three sons, Dr. Joseph J. Louro of Wall, Dr. James A. Louro and his wife, Judy of Wall and Dr. Jeffrey F. Louro and his wife, Dawn of Jackson; a daughter-in-law and her spouse, Janet and Frank DeVito of Freehold Township; her brother, Ralph Guadagno and his wife, Diane of Freehold Township; two sisters, Rosemary Boffa and her husband, Edward of Cochecton Center, NY and Joan Silvestri and her husband, Giacomo of Lyndhurst; seventeen grandchildren;  three great grandchildren; and many loving nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, December 14, 2013 at St. Robert Bellarmine Catholic Church, 61 Georgia Road, Freehold Township from 9:30 to 11:30 AM followed by her funeral mass at 11:30 AM.  Entombment will follow at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Cemetery, Freehold Township.
