Former Freehold Resident Richard Vesce II Dies at 30

Played football at St. John Vianney and William Patterson University.

Richard  M. Vesce II, 30, of Wood-Ridge, passed away suddenly on Sunday, October 20, 2013, in Freehold Borough. Born in New Brunswick, he lived in both Freehold and  Manalapan before moving to Wood-Ridge two years ago.  

He was a 2001 graduate of St. John Vianney High School where he excelled in football and wrestling.  He continued playing football at William Paterson University where he met the love of his life, Allison.  They married July 14, 2013.  Ricky worked for United Parcel Service in Edison and coached wrestling and football for SJV and Freehold Boro High Schools.

He was predeceased by his paternal grandfather, Charles A. Vesce Sr.; and his maternal grandparents, Annette and Lewis DeNaro. He is survived by his loving wife, Allison; parents, Richard and Debra Vesce; sister, Danielle Smurlo-Vesce; his paternal grandmother, Iris Vesce; his mother and father-in-law, Thomas and Kathleen Banca; and sister-in-law, Tracy Smurlo-Vesce; and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Family and friends are invited to visit Wednesday and Thursday, October 23rd and 24th, from 4:00 to 8:00 PM, at Freeman Manalapan-Marlboro Funeral Home, 344 Route 9 North, Manalapan.  A funeral service will be held on Friday at 11:00 AM at the funeral home.  In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Frank Vesce Jr. Supplemental Benefits Trust, c/o Allison Vesce, 62 Deer Path Lane, Freehold, NJ 07728.
