Freehold Resident Armenia Rosa Dies at 87

Rosa was born and raised in Portugal before coming to the U.S.

Armenia Rosa, 87, of Freehold Township passed away at home peacefully surrounded by her family on Wednesday.  Armenia was born, raised and had lived in Fermentelos, Portugal and came to the U.S. in 1969 settling in Yonkers, NY.  She had lived in Yonkers until returning to Fermentelos in 1987.  In 2002, she came back to the U.S. and settled in Freehold Township.

Armenia was predeceased by her husband, Joao Rosa; three brothers; and a sister.  She is survived by a son, Gabriel Rosa and his wife, Cindy Coleman-Rosa of Freehold Township; a daughter, Lucia Micieli of Freehold Township; two grandchildren, Amanda and Arthur John “A.J.” Rosa; and a sister, Augusta da Silva of Portugal.

Relatives and friends are invited to gather at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Monday, February 24, 2014 at 9:30 AM for the Procession to the Church of St. Veronica, 4215 Route 9 North, Howell for her 10:30 AM Funeral Mass.  Interment will follow in St. Gabriel’s Cemetery and Chapel Mausoleum, Marlboro.  For information, directions or condolence messages to the family, visit www.claytonfuneralhome.com.
