Freehold Resident Viera Skorochod Dies at 89

Worked at Brockway Glass for more than 23 years.

Viera Skorochod, 89, of Freehold passed away at home on Saturday, January 4, 2014. Viera was born in Lutsk, Ukraine before coming to America. 

She retired in 1986 from Brockway Glass Co., Freehold where she worked for over 23 years. Viera was a member of Holy Trinity Ukrainian Orthodox Church in Irvington. 

She is survived by one son, Basil Skorochod of Howell; two daughters, Linda Skorochod of Howell and Helen Bowser of Freehold; one brother, Mikola of Germany; one sister, Zena Meleszchak of Ohio; four grandchildren, Leandra, Justin, Christina and Larisa; and one great grandson, Millar John.

Visitation will be held at Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Monday, January 6, 2014 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM. Relatives and friends are invited to attend her 11:00 AM funeral service on Wednesday, January 8, 2014 at Holy Trinity Ukrainian Orthodox Church, 836 Lyons Avenue, Irvington.
