Freehold Resident Virginia Demetrakis Dies at 87

Worked as an executive secretary at American Express

Virginia Demetrakis, 87, of Freehold Township passed away on Saturday, January 25, 2014 at Kimball Medical Center, Lakewood. 

Virginia was born in Baltimore, MD and had lived in NYC, Brooklyn and Astoria, Queens before moving to Freehold Township in 1994. She was an executive secretary at American Express, NYC for 35 years.

Virginia was predeceased by two sisters, Mary Paskewitz and Catherine Demetrakis; two brothers, James Castress and Nicolas Demetrakis; and two nephews. She is survived by five nephews; two nieces; five great nephews; eight great nieces; seven great great nephews; and four great great nieces.

Relatives and friends may gather at Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Tuesday, January 28, 2014 at 7:30 AM for the procession to St. Barbara’s Greek Orthodox Church, 2200 Church Road, Toms River for her 9:00 AM funeral service. Interment to follow in Old Tennent Cemetery, Tennent.
