Freehold Township School Secretary, Dies at 83

Services for Dorothy W. Blatchley will begin on Friday, March 8 at the Clayton and McGirr Funeral Home.

Dorothy W. Blatchley, 83, of Freehold Township died on Tuesday, March 5 at Geraldine L. Thompson Care Center, Wall.

Blatchley was born and raised in Adelphia and was a lifelong Freehold Township area resident. She was a secretary for Freehold Township School District and was a Cub Scout den mother. She was also a Sunday school teacher at the Reformed Church of Freehold. 

Blatchley, was predeceased by her husband of 62 years, Charles Blatchley, in 2010 and a daughter, Leigh Breese in 1981. Dorothy is survived by a son, Brian Blatchley and his wife, Shirley A. of Oceanport, NJ; two grandchildren, Jennifer Corboy and her husband, Daniel of Middletown, NJ and Jeffrey Pace and his wife, Natasha of Northport, Fl.; and four great grandchildren, Calvin Jesse Corboy, Naomi Rose Corboy, Samantha Pace and Alexander Pace.

Visiting will be at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home on Friday, March 8 from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Relatives and friends are invited to attend her 9:30 a.m. Funeral Service at the funeral home on Saturday, March 9.

Interment will follow in Maplewood Cemetery, Freehold Township. For those who desire, memorial contributions in memory of Blatchley may be made to American Diabetes Association, 1701 North Beauregard Street, Alexandria, VA 22311.
