Obituary: Adelaide Prata, 90

Adelaide Prata was a wife, mother and retired seamstress.

Adelaide Prata, 90, of Freehold Township, passed away on Saturday, October 29, 2011 at home. Prata was born in Lisbon, Portugal and had come to the United States in 1945, settling in Jersey City. She had lived in Bayonne before moving to Freehold in 1996. Prata was a seamstress and a upholsterer for Thomson Brothers Upholstery, Bayonne for over 20 years retiring in 1986.

She was predeceased by a sister, three brothers and a son-in-law, James. Prata is survived by her husband, Valentine A. Prata; two daughters, Maria Sena and her husband, James, of Freehold Township, and Celeste O’Halloran, of Freehold; four grandchildren, Jeanine Mittenzwei and her husband, Chris, Kimberly O’Malley and her husband, Kevin, Michael J. O’Halloran and his wife, Heather, and Davin J. O’Halloran; and four great-grandchildren, Nicholas, Jake, Luke and Chase.

Visiting at the , 100 Elton-Adelphia Road in Freehold Township on Tuesday, Nov. 1 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Rite of Committal at the funeral home on Wednesday, Nov. 2 at 9 a.m. followed by her 10 a.m. funeral Mass at in Freehold.
