Obituary: Anne M. Smith, 85

Smith was born in Trenton and was a lifelong resident of the Freehold area

Anne M. Smith of Freehold died Monday, March 19, at the age of 85 at Bartley Healthcare Center in Jackson Township. 

She was born in Trenton and was a lifelong resident of the Freehold area. Smith was a graduate of the College of St. Elizabeth, Convent Station.

She was a quality control chemist for A. & M. Karagheusian Rug Mill in Freehold, Worthington BioChemical Corporation, Cooper Medical Company, and American Vitamin Company, all of Freehold Township.

Smith was a communicant of , where she was an Extraordinary Minister of the Holy Eucharist, member of the Altar Rosary Society and St. Vincent DePaul Society, and member of Court St. Rose of Lima No. 737, Catholic Daughters of the Americas, all of Freehold.  She was also a volunteer at CentraState Medical Center, Freehold Township.

She was predeceased by her parents, Andrew and Mary Power Morris; and a brother, Raymond Andrew Morris.

Surviving are two brothers and a sister-in-law, Robert and Diana Morris, Howell, and Stephen Morris, Freehold; nine nieces and nephews; and many great nieces and nephews.

Visiting will be held at the on Thursday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. The Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated at St. Rose of Lima Church on Friday at 10:00 a.m. followed by interment at the parish cemetery.
