Barbara DeSpirito, 74, of Freehold Township died on Sunday, Oct. 21 at CentraState Medical Center, surrounded by her family. DeSpirito was born in Brooklyn, NY and had lived in Sayreville for 30 years before moving to Freehold Township 7 years ago. She was a parishioner of St. Robert Bellarmine Catholic Church and was an extremely dedicated wife, mother and grandmother.
DeSpirito is survived by her husband, Nicholas “Nick” DeSpirito; one daughter, Deborah Alvarado and her husband, Michael of Freehold Township, NJ; two sons, Philip DeSpirito and his wife, Kathleen of Middletown, NJ and Steven DeSpirito and his wife, Jennifer of Roswell, GA; seven grandchildren, Marisa, Nicholas, Christine, Victoria, Samantha, Madeleine and Lily; and three sisters, Annette DiPaolo of Jackson, NJ, Camille Lagalla of South Amboy, NJ and Diane Romano of Parlin, NJ.
Visiting will be at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, on Wednesday, Oct. 24, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Relatives and friends may gather at the funeral home at 9 a.m. on Thursday, Oct. 25,for the procession to St. Robert Bellarmine Catholic Church, for her 10 a.m. Funeral Mass.
Entombment will follow in St. Rose of Lima Catholic Cemetery.
