Obituary: George L. Turner III, 61

Turner moved to Freehold Township in 2004 after living in the south for most of his life.

George L. Turner III, 61, of Freehold Township died after an extended illness on Tuesday, May 22 at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick. 

Turner was born in Louisville, Kentucky and had lived in Lafayette, Louisiana and Dallas, Texas before moving to Freehold Township in 2004. He had a great sense of humor, calm temperament and an abundant southern charm.  Turner will be dearly missed by all who were fortunate enough to know him.

He was predeceased by his parents, George L. Turner, Jr. & Midora Turner, and a nephew, Brent Turner.  George is survived by his longtime partner, J. Lin Duke of Freehold Twp., NJ; two brothers, Dr. Jan Turner and his wife, Jenni of Savannah, GA, and Robert Turner and his wife, Ann of Canton, CT; two nieces, Janelle Turner, and Heather Compton and her husband, Rich; a nephew, Travis Turner; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family and friends.

Gathering at the on Friday, May 25 from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m. with his funeral service to follow at 3:00 p.m. Cremation will be private.
