Obituary: James H. Jackson, 77

James H. Jackson was a husband, father and past president of the Freehold Fire Department.

James H. Jackson, 77, of Freehold died on Tuesday, Oct. 25 at home surrounded by his family. He was a lifelong Freehold resident.

He was a general foreman for the Nestle Company in Freehold where he was employed for 43 before his retirement in 1996.

Jackson was a communicant of St. Rose of Lima Roman Catholic Church in Freehold. He was a past president of the Freehold Fire Department, an ex-captain and past president of Richardson Engine Company No. 2, a past president of the Freehold Fire Department Relief Association, and a past president of the Freehold Exempt Fireman’s Association. He was a former member of the Freehold First Aid and Emergency Squad and a former coach in the Freehold Little League.

Surviving are his wife of 58 years, Mary Eleen Ryan Jackson; his children and their spouses, Lawrence J. Jackson, Garry R. Jackson, Jill and Glenn Guy, Kenneth P. and Amelia Jackson, Susan and Robert McDonald, Judy and John Dawes, Jr., Amy and Brian Pavlovich, and Gail and Richard Ginn; a sister, Patricia Burke; a sister-in-law, Nancy Daley; a sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Susan and Alan Conover; 13 grandchildren, Christopher and Andrew Guy, Mariel and Calli Jackson, Benjamin, Patrick and Lilly Dawes, Thomas and Tara McDonald, Julie and Jackson Pavlovich, and Liam and Seamus Ginn; and many nieces and nephews.

Visiting hours will be held at the , 20 Center Street, Freehold on Friday from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. The funeral liturgy will be celebrated at St. Rose of Lima Church, Freehold on Saturday at 11:30 a.m. followed by interment at the parish cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to St. Rose of Lima Church Capital Campaign, 16 McLean Street, Freehold, NJ 07728 would be appreciated.
