Obituary: Michael J. Miccio, 66

Miccio lived in Freehold since 2005.

Michael J. Miccio, 66, of Freehold, passed away on Thursday, July 19 at St. Barnabas Hospice and Palliative Care Center in Long Branch. Miccio, a U.S. Army veteran during the Vietnam War, was born in Queens and lived in Bradley Beach for many years before coming to live in Freehold in 2005. He worked for 3M as a specialized service technician for over 20 years and retired in 2001. Miccio was a member of the American Legion, Brick, a member of the B.P.O.E., Lakewood, as well as an active member of the Medical Reserve Corp of Monmouth County. Miccio was a member of the Oakhurst United Methodist Church serving on many committees, as a lay leader, and as a past Sunday School Teacher. 

He is predeceased by his parents, Joseph V. and Virginia Garcia Miccio. He is survived by his wife, Arlene Miccio; a son, Michael Miccio, Jr. and his wife, Gina of Easton, Pennsylvania; a daughter, Robin DeGrave and her husband, Joseph of Fuquay-Varina, North Carolina; two grandsons, Thomas Weist and Joseph DeGrave; and a half sister, Cathy Giandigreggio of Long Island.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend Miccio's memorial service on Sunday, August 5, 2012 at the Oakhurst United Methodist Church, 103 Monmouth Road, Oakhurst at 12:00 p.m. Arrangements by Funeral Home, Freehold Township.  In lieu of flowers memorial contributions in memory of Michael may be made to either, the American Cancer Society, 801 Broad Street in Shrewsbury or the John Blair Scholarship Fund the Oakhurst United Methodist Church in Oakhurst.  For information, directions or condolence messages to the family click here
