Obituary: Rose Mary “Rosie” Manos, 96

Manos was a well-known Freehold waitress, working behind the counter at the Golden Bell Diner for 12 years.

Rose Mary “Rosie” Manos, 96, of Freehold Township, died on Thursday, June 14 at Bartley Healthcare.

Manos was born in Brooklyn and had lived in New York City and Dover, NJ before moving to the Silvermead community in Freehold Twp. in 1971.  

Along with her late husband, she owned and operated the Orbit Diner, Dover, NJ from 1966 to 1971. Manos was a well-known waitress, working behind the counter at the for 12 years, retiring in 1985.

She was predeceased by her husband, James Manos in 1987; three sisters, Mickey Ann Cristentello, Agnes Dunbar and Virginia Marsh. Manos is survived by a sister-in-law, Barbara Dana Bassar of Freehold Twp; and many, many friends.

Private arrangements under the direction of the in Freehold Township. Interment of cremated remains will be held at a date to be determined.
