OPINION: Inappropriate Postal Behavior

USPS throws package in rain while I'm home - nice Christmas present

My postal carrier has lost two 30 day mail holds and the post office is doing nothing to investigate the missing mail.  Both times the hold required that I pick up the accumulated mail at the Post Office with a notation asking that they ask for a Driver's License and both times I went early to discover they had lost EVERYTHING.  60 days of mail missing!

From Magazines, to paychecks and even important legal documents.

Adding insult to injury, I told the delivery supervisors that I have video of my delivery man throwing my package at my front door in a downpour on 12/23/2013 and WHILE I WAS HOME and I had no idea the box was outside being ruined by water for hours while I was sitting here in my office at the back of the condo.  The supervisor told me "He has already be warned about this" and wouldn't take my new complaint or view my video.

Regarding the 60 days of missing mail, the supervisors keep asking me if someone has a key to my box. The answer is No.  I have lived here for 3 years and never shared my key. What would that matter when I was supposed to pick up the mail AND came to the post office early to collect both times?!

Adding to the mystery is that other neighbors are complaining about missing mail including one that came in when I was at the post office myself!

I will note that some neighbors are mentioning that all of a sudden they are getting the mail that normally would go missing (coupons they orders, paychecks.)

This is happening in Wyndham Place exclusively and they stopped using substitutes in December. Spread the word in the neighborhood and see if others will come forward because it appears these are not isolated incidents! I have specifically received a stack of letters rubber-banded together for one neighbor. I received an Amazon package for another. I have had neighbors leave letters addressed to me in my doorway. A woman across the street tells me she has been missing financial statements for years and a paycheck recently. I know I'm missing coupons for cigarettes and I bet others are as well.

At least once a month, One of my neighbors will hand me a piece of mail that was put in "Their" mailbox........At least once a month I have to do the same for them!!!........Give this carrier a smaller mail run....Maybe a apartment complex with 5 units!!! somewhere in Florida.

The Freehold Twsp route for Ascot Drive is pretty much a 'hey, who wants it' approach. This is the 4th time since November that a utility or major crediter hasn't received our payment. The branch office near raintree is pretty much filled with frustrated workers as well, & politely apologize, but 'oh well' ensues.

We have the same problem as Karen. In my borough condo neighborhood, my neighbors and I are constantly getting each others' mail. I have missed payments (and who knows what else) as a result of this. Many in my building have called and complained on separate occasions, yet the person answering the phone claims that it's "the first time they've heard this complaint." If the USPS is hoping for advocates, this isn't the way to get them.
