Howell Ice World will host the Shooting for a Goal Hockey Fundraiser, which will feature a hockey game on Sunday, March 13 at 1 p.m. between former New Jersey Devils players and the Colts Neck Steeds. The Steeds are composed of Colts Neck firefighters and local hockey players. The money raised at the event will benefit the Colts Neck Volunteer Fire Co. #2 building fund. Tickets are $20 for adults, $10 for kids high school age to five years old, and free for children under five years. The roster of former Devils players includes Ken Daneyko, Jim Dowd, Bruce Driver, Oliwa Krzysztof, Dave Lehanski, Grant Marshall, Brian Mullen, Michel Petit and Randy Velischek.
Have a child who can’t stop watching High School Musical? Inspire them with real high school talent. The Patriot Players of Freehold Township High School will present "Fame: The Musical" this weekend. The show will run Saturday, March 12 at 1 p.m. and 7 p.m. Tickets are $5.
Longstreet Farm in Holmdel will host a blacksmith demonstration and music man Rich Marzec on Sunday, March 13 from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. The historic farm in Holmdel Park allows visitors to experience life as it would have been in the 1890s. Employees on the nine-acre farm dress in period costume and show daily and seasonal agricultural and domestic activities.
Have a little nature lover in the family? The Manasquan Reservoir Environmental Center in Howell will host “All About Foxes,” a short program on the creature. Only taxidermy animals will by on display. The free nature program takes place Saturday, March 12 and Sunday, March 13 from 1:30 p.m. to 3 p.m.
The Freehold Public Library will hold a St. Patrick’s Day Family Tea on Thursday from 3 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Enjoy some light refreshments and the company of other library families in the lower parlor where the children's rooms located. The event is free and no reservation is required. Children must be accompanied by an adult.
