Accident Shuts Down Portion of Route 33

At a little after 2:30 on Wednesday afternoon a three vehicle accident shut down a portion of Route 33 between Colts Neck Road and Route 34.

Howell Police report the accident involved a bus, a truck and a van which led to the shut down of the major roadway. The truck, which jackknifed struck the pole which knocked down the power lines and required the road to be closed.

In early reports three people were taken to Jersey Shore University Medical Center, but it is not believed the injuries were serious.
