Richard Busby is accused of killing Michael Conway in his Freehold Township home.

A Newark man has been charged with the July 31 murder of Michael Conway, according to a Freehold Township Police Department arrest warrant. Richard Busby, 54, is being held in Monmouth County Correctional Institution on $1.5 million bail, initial court appearance documents provided by the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office indicate.

Conway was found home on July 31 after Freehold Township police and firefighters from Freehold Township Independent Fire Co. #1 responded to an emergency call reporting a fire at the residence at 6 a.m. The death was ruled a homicide, officials from the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office said.

Busby faces charges of conspiring to commit a robbery and arson, aggravated arson, three counts of weapons possession, and murder during the commission of a robbery, according to the arrest warrant.
