Borough Man Arrested After Argument Allegedly Turns Violent

Police say John Downs allegedly threatened someone with a knife.

A Freehold Borough man was arrested in early December and charged after an argument allegedly turned violent.

At 3:20 p.m. on Dec. 8, John Downs, 55, of Throckmorton Street, was arrested and charged on multiple counts including unlawful possession of a weapon, terrorist threats and possession of a weapon by an unlawful possession, police said.

According to the , Downs allegedly pulled a knife and threatened a victim during an argument.

Patrolman Diego Flores responded to the scene and arrested Downs.

Downs was transported to the and remanded on $42,500 bail.
