While investigating a burglary in the borough on Wednesday, Freehold Borough police say they identified a suspect in that incident and were also able to link him to other burglaries in the town as well.
Lt. Michael Sweetman said the department was called for a reported burglary at Pepe’s Deli. Upon arriving, Patrolman Walter Perski determined that items valued between $400 and $500 had been taken from the business including money and products.
Detectives from the department investigated the scene and identified a suspect as 40-year-old Borough resident Christopher Allgood and a warrant was issued for his arrest. At 10:38 that night Allgood was seen by Ptl. Sam Hernandez and was arrested without incident according to Sweetman.
At the time of the arrest Allgood was found with items that are believed to have come from an unrelated burglary. He was charged with burglary and receiving stolen property. Following his arrest Allgood was taken to the Monmouth County Correctional institution in lieu of bail which was set at $52,500.
