Drugs Charges Following Arrests At Liberty St. Park

Freehold pair arrested on drugs charges on April 19

A Freehold man was arrested and charged with a slew of drugs charges after police found he was carrying a large amount of heroin at Liberty St. Park, authorities said.

Edwin Villanueva, 42, on April 19 was arrested and charged with possession of heroin, possession of heroin with the intent to distribute, possession of heroin with intent to distribute within 500 feet of a park and possession with the intent to distribute heroin within 1,000 feet of a school following an arrest in Liberty St. Park shortly before noon, Lt. Michael Sweetman said.

Also arrested was Robert Ferriole, 37, of Freehold Township. Ferriole was charged with loitering with the intent to buy drugs. He was processed and released with a summons pending a court date, Sweetman said.

Villanueva was taken to Monmouth County jail, Freehold Township, in lieu of $95,000 cash bail. Patrolman James Richman was the arresting officer, Sweetman said.
