East Windsor Man Charged with Attempted Kidnapping

Freehold Township Police arrest a man the day after he pointed a gun at his ex-girlfriend and others.

A 42-year old East Windsor man was arrested by Freehold Township Police after he allegedly attempted to kidnap his ex-girlfriend and threatened her, and others, with a gun on Thursday.

Michael Scholander of Dennison Drive, faces seven charges and is being held in the county jail on $170,000 bail. 

According to a complaint warrant, Scholander, is alleged to have ordered his ex-girlfriend to get into his car by pointing a pistol at her, and threated to kill her ex-husband if she did not cooperate, which led to him being charged for criminal attempt and terroristic threats.

He is also charged with two counts of aggravated assault for pointing a gun at her and another person during the incident in a threatening manner and weapons charges.
