UPDATE 12:30 p.m: Lt. Michael Sweetman of the Freehold Borough Police Department identified the victim in Sunday morning's fatal crash as Richard M. Vesce II, 30, of Wood Ridge, NJ.

A crash in the early morning hours Sunday took the life of the driver involved in the one car accident in Freehold Borough.

Lt. Michael Sweetman of the Freehold Borough Police Department reported the accident occurred at approximately 1:58 a.m on Sunday morning on Route 79 North just past Dutch Lane.
Sweetman said Ptl. Brian Ruegger responded to the scene and that the identity of the driver was not being released. The crash remains under investigation.
