The Freehold Police Department is joining forces with the Marlboro Police Department to ride down to Washington D.C. for the annual Police Unity Tour.
The Police Unity Tour is a four-day bike ride that starts in New Jersey and ends in Washington DC at the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial, which honors officers who have been killed in the line of duty.
Over the years, the tour has raised over $15 million dollars, some of which supports families of fallen officers.
This year, the two departments are working to raise funds together at a community gala to be held at The American Hotel on April 12.
The Salue to Community Excellence Gala will honor Joseph Occhipinti, Executive Director of the National Police Defense Fund and Jack Aaronson, owner of 33 East Car Wash and All Jersey Janitorial Service.
Tickets for the event are $125 and sponsor opportunities are available (see attached flier). The event begins at 7 p.m.
The event will have a cocktail reception, dinner, open premium bar, an auction and a casino night.
