Freehold Borough Detectives Commended for Closing Big Cases

According to Freehold Borough Police Chief Glenn Roberts, in the last two months the Detective bureau has closed out all of the department's big cases with arrests and criminal charges.

The Freehold Borough Detective Bureau has been busy closing the department’s big cases, according to Freehold Borough Police Chief Glenn Roberts.

Following the promotion of Sgt. Andrew Demuth to Detective Sgt., Roberts explained to Freehold Patch how hard the department has been working to keep the borough safe.

“Crime stats go up and down all the time but it is how you close a case that counts. These guys have been working really hard and they have been really successful with their closure rate, making arrests and criminal charges,” said Roberts. “They are doing a really awesome job.”

Roberts further explained that in recent months, the borough has seen incidents of burglary, aggravated assault and robbery. However, within a day or two of the incidents, the alleged person responsible has been identified and picked up.

“In the last two months we have closed out all of our big cases with arrests and criminal charges,” explained Roberts. “I would like to commend the detective bureau for not only their rabid response, but their knowledge and experience. They work very well with patrols, who assist them greatly.”
