Freehold Borough Man Accused of Sex Assault of 8-Year-Old

A Freehold Borough man is accused of sexually assaulting an 8-year-old.
Miguel A. Rodriguez, 30, of Institute Street, was taken into custody by on Wednesday, Dec. 14 following an investigation by the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office Sex Crimes Unit, according to the arrest warrant.
Rodriguez was charged with sexual assault and endangering the welfare of child in connection with an incident that allegedly took place in September 2001.

When Detective Christopher Otlowski attempted to take Rodriguez into custody on Wednesday, he allegedly hid in the basement of his home and pushed an officer, according to the warrant. Rodriguez was subsequently charged with obstructing the administration of the law and resisting arrest.
He is being held in Monmouth County Correctional Institution on $303,500 with no 10 percent option. The date of his first appearance at the is Jan. 3, 2012 at 1 p.m. in front of Judge Honora O’Brien Kilgallen.
