Freehold Man Faces Charges in Separate Incidents

An 18-year-old Barkalow Avenue resident was arrested in Freehold Borough twice in one week.

Andre Powell faces multiple charges stemming from the incidents, according to Lt. Mark Wodell of the . On Saturday, Oct. 15, Patrolmen Mark Garahan and Shaun Hobbs responded to a call of a dispute on Center Street at 9:30 p.m. During the course of the investigation, police said Powell was asked to leave but became disorderly. When the officers tried to take Powell into custody, he pulled away, Wodell said.

Powell was charged with disorderly conduct, resisting arrest with force and underage consumption of alcohol. He was committed to Monmouth County Correctional Institution (MCCI) on $10,000 bail.

On Saturday, Oct. 22, police responded to reports of a dispute on Lloyd Street. Powell allegedly threatened to harm a 47-year-old man and charged at him while displaying a knife, Wodell said. Patrolman Diego Flores arrested Powell. He was charged with unlawful possession of a weapon and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. He was remanded to MCCI on $72,500 bail.
